Bourbon and Ginger
Let's spice it up!
Piquant ginger and tart lemon team up with honey and bourbon is this spicy drink. start with a ginger/honey simple syrup. Add some fresh lemon juice and then bourbon.
Prefer to skip the alcohol? Substitute black tea, sparkling water, or gingerale for the bourbon and you'll never miss a thing.
3/4 oz. ginger/honey syrup*
3/4 oz. fresh lemon juice
2 oz. bourbon
Shake ingredients in a cocktail shaker and strain into a glass with ice.
Garnish with a sprig of fresh juniper or lemon peel.
*Combine 2 oz. honey with 2 oz. water. Heat until simmering. Remove from heat and add a few slices of fresh ginger root. Let steep until cool. Strain out ginger pieces. Label and refrigerate unused syrup .
